Sad, This Park was Forced to Close Because of Extortion - This action is taken after the manager can not stand the illegal levies (pungli) made by local residents.

Yes, pungli or commonly called 'cigarette money' is often done by the youth around. They often ask for money from the manager or to quote money from visitors who come.

Managers repeatedly tried to budge by opening up employment opportunities for local youth. But it does not reduce the action of asking for 'cigarette money' despite already getting the revenue from the tourist park. Includes opening twice a ticket sale for which money is given to them.

Visitors have already paid twice, but when they get into the rides are still asked for additional money.

The sad news is finally reported by Laburaku. 'Cigarette money' is said to be the main reason.

Even so, the closure does not last forever. The managers promised to reopen the park in August while still fixing the existing rides, but without any 'cigarette money' of course.

Really sad indeed, the tradition of illegal levies that President Jokowi wants to remove even become a tradition in the tourist area. I do not know how long the action continues.
